I’ve called Semiahmoo home for more than 30 years, and I can honestly say there’s nowhere else I’d rather be. Originally from California, I traded sunshine for the crystal raindrops of the Pacific Northwest — and never looked back. Those “webbed feet” have come to symbolize everything I love about this area: the fresh air, the forests, and the miles of peaceful shoreline that make every morning walk something special.
My journey to Whatcom County took me across the country — from growing up in western Colorado to college in Oklahoma and a career in Florida working for that magical mouse. Each move brought great experiences, new friends, and a deeper appreciation for what truly makes a place feel like home. But when I settled in Blaine, something just clicked. Maybe it was the breathtaking August sunsets over the bay, the eagles perched along the spit, or the warm sense of community that comes with small-town living. Whatever it was, this is where I knew I belonged.
As a Managing Broker and longtime top-producing agent in Semiahmoo and Blaine, I’ve built my business on service, relationships, and results. For over three decades, I’ve helped clients buy, sell, and build their dream homes — consistently holding the #1 selling position in Semiahmoo for many years.

This team takes care of details that other agents would not do, whether it’s checking the unit for a piece of mail, going to post office for a registered letter, staging the unit (at no cost to the client) providing help to move furniture to a truck, providing a truck!, offering temp storage, scrubbing a wall, and just being available when I called and resolving anything that comes up at the same time reassuring the client that everything is ok. There are not enough words to describe the overwhelming gratitude we have for Kathy and her team; we had received a challenging health diagnosis and needed to sell our condo rather quickly. In the midst of this challenging time, Kathy came in and offered her amazing services--not only to stage the condo, but to take care of everything, knowing we had a lot on our plate. We packed up the things that mattered (this was a vacation home) and returned home to begin treatment. The condo was beautifully staged, and she and her amazing team set to work to market the condo. She sold it, and we never had to come back for any reason--she handled it all. Kathy and team did a great job helping us sell our home FAST! I was also a real estate agent in the same company as Kathy and we were transferred out of state, so I asked her to help. We had to leave before it was sold and she got the job done. Our buyer had some delays in financing but she stayed on top of everything and kept us informed all the way. She knows the area well and if I were buying or selling in the Semiahmoo area, I wouldn't use anyone else. She knows real estate!

I would actually rate working with Kathy a 10. She is not only knowledgeable regarding real estate issues but she really listens to the concern of her sellers and buyers. She kept in touch often and updated me on how my transactions were moving along. (She handled both my home sale and my purchase of a new home.) TOP NOTCH!! Kathy always gives 110% to everything she addresses. And, if there is ever a question, she steps up and takes responsibility, just to keep the deal moving along. Team Stauffer provides fabulous service! I particularly like how they take care of the little things that together can add up to a lot of stress for the customer. For example, they helped us get rid of some furniture that would not work in our new house. We were so busy moving at that time, so it was a blessing to get it taken care of. Kathy is an expert and can manage through any challenge or market situation.
